Cuando Meter Fowler, experto en informática del Departamento de Policía de los Ángeles, investiga un asesinato en Chinatown, sólo tiene un testigo: Chu Cho, el perro de la víctima. Pero Fowler acaba descubriendo que Chu Cho es el único perro capaz de hablar con los seres humanos y, además, es un experto en artes marciales. Tratando de atrapar al asesino, ambos se verán involucrados en un complot que pondrá sus vidas en peligro.
