Siempre el mismo día (2011)

(CASTELLANO) One Day arranca con una idea interesante: seguir a dos amigos durante años, siempre en la misma fecha. Suena bien, ¿no? Pero al final, la película se queda un poco corta. Esperaba más, sobre todo porque me la recomendaron diciendo que se parecía a Los Años Nuevos, pero la verdad es que no tienen nada que ver.
Anne Hathaway y Jim Sturgess están bien, cumplen con sus papeles, pero la química entre ellos no termina de despegar del todo. Hathaway hace un buen trabajo, aunque su acento británico chirría en algunos momentos. Sturgess, por su parte, aporta ese toque vulnerable que ayuda a conectar un poco más con su personaje.
La historia tiene sus momentos bonitos, sí, pero también cae en tópicos y a veces se siente forzada. Hay escenas que te hacen sonreír, pero otras que parecen metidas con calzador. Y aunque visualmente es agradable, el ritmo va dando tumbos, como si no terminara de encontrar su camino.
En resumen, One Day es una peli que se deja ver, tiene su encanto, pero no llega a emocionar como promete. Para pasar el rato está bien, pero no esperes que te deje pensando mucho después de que acaben los créditos.
(ENGLISH) One Day kicks off with an interesting idea: following two friends over the years, always on the same date. Sounds promising, right? But in the end, the movie falls a bit short. I was expecting more, especially since it was recommended to me as being similar to New Year’s Eve, but honestly, they have nothing in common.
Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess do a decent job; they fit into their roles, but the chemistry between them doesn’t quite take off. Hathaway delivers a solid performance, though her British accent feels off in places. Sturgess brings a vulnerable side that helps connect a bit more with his character.
The story has its sweet moments, sure, but it also leans into clichés and sometimes feels a bit forced. There are scenes that make you smile, but others feel like they were just thrown in. And while it’s visually pleasing, the pacing stumbles here and there, as if the film can’t quite find its rhythm.
In short, One Day is a watchable film with a certain charm, but it doesn’t quite deliver the emotional punch it promises. It’s good for a casual watch, but don’t expect it to linger in your mind long after the credits roll.
