La Bella y La Bestia (2017)

Disney's live-action adaptation of the beloved classic animation, Beauty and the Beast, had a lot to live up to. With a talented cast and re-teaming with Alan Menken to recreate the magic of the original, the movie delivers on many levels, but also faces some challenges. Emma Watson shines as Belle, bringing the same sensibilities and soft voice as the animated version, while Dan Stevens brings realism and humanity to the Beast's performance. The supporting cast, including McGregor and McKellen as Lumière and Cogsworth, is top-notch, and the musical numbers are as grand and spectacular as expected. While the movie retains the charm of the animated version, it also adds new elements and a darker, gothic feel to the Beast's castle. However, the CGI used to bring the Beast to life is inconsistent and at times, noticeably artificial. Overall, it's a fresh take on a classic tale that will leave audiences humming the iconic songs and feeling good.
