En una finca de aguacates llamada "Santa Catalina", viven Severiano del Monte y sus cinco hijos adoptivos. Severiano fallece y la vida de sus hijos cambia el día de la lectura del testamento, con la aparición inesperada de Sara, su hermana, de quien no sabían que existía.
Juan le asegura a Sara que su presencia le ha cambiado la vida, pero ella le pide no insistir para no sufrir ambos por amor. Julieta busca aliarse a Pedro.
Julieta announces to Juan that she is expecting his baby; Pedro swears to Sara that he will fight for her love and kisses her while she is unconscious.
Juan receives death threats against Sara if he doesn't get away from her; he decides to sacrifice his happiness. Lucas finds out from Déborah that his mother is alive.
Juan breaks up with Sara and kicks her out of the hacienda, so she changes her attitude and threatens the Del Montes with fighting over the entire inheritance.
Sarah makes it clear to John that she could enter into a relationship with Peter; Mateo drinks again and Déborah confirms that Rosa was Severiano's lover.
Pedro proposes to Sara to be his girlfriend in front of the whole family; Mateo renounces the inheritance and Déborah takes the store from Rosa and Próspero.
Sara decides to leave Santa Catalina for the sake of her baby and tells the Del Montes that she is giving up the inheritance; Pedro ends Aurora's life.
Pedro listens when Dante tells Déborah that Sara is his daughter and not a Del Monte. Juan saves Sara from suffering an accident at the hands of Julieta.
